Sylvain Bzikot Cote d'Or Blanc is a rich and concentrated Chardonnay from the relatively new Cote d’Or appellation. The appellation was created in 2017 to highlight the greater potential and uniqueness of Cote d’Or Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Sylvain’s shows a marked step up in richness from his Bourgogne Blanc and has lovely deep citrus notes, almonds, green fruit and amazing freshness. It is quite a bargain!
Domaine Sylvain Bzikot maybe one of the lesser-known names in Puligny Montrachet, but the quiet and reserved Sylvain lets his wines, rather than a PR machine do the talking. The Domaine was started by Sylvain’s grandfather, a Polish emigrant, who arrived in Puligny just before the 2nd World War with nothing but the clothes he stood up in. From those very humble beginnings this family Domaine has managed to acquire an impressive 4 hectares of some of the most valuable agricultural land in the world, namely Puligny-Montrachet and Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru. They own a further 9 hectares of “regional appellation” vineyards which produce Bourgogne Blanc, Aligoté and Bourgogne Pinot Noir.
