Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico 'Ottavio' Piersanti is a delightful wine with an instantly appealing nose of soft peach and crisp green apple. The palate is intense with stone fruit, citrus and apple, perfectly balanced with almond and white spice notes. The wine is made from the Verdicchio grape variety, grown in the Castelli di Jesi Classic region, which is a warmer, hillier part of Marche, ideal for growing quality grapes. Like its name, it’s a real mouthful.
Piersanti was founded in 1955 by Giovanni Piersanti and his children Silveria and Carlo. Back then, it was a small operation based in a basement which produced two sparkling wines. Although still family owned, the company has now grown into one of the regions best quality to price ration producers of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. A wine that both drinks wonderfully when young, but can develop with age into a complex, textured delight.
