Taittinger Brut Reserve is one of the legendary names from the famous Champagne region of France. The Brut Reserve has a high proportion of Chardonnay (40%) in the blend which is rare in fine Non-Vintage Champagne. This gives the wine a pronounced fruit character, superb purity and extreme elegance, which is quite distinctive and sets it apart from other brands. It is expressive, with fragrant peach, white flower and vanilla notes beautifully balanced with honey and baked biscuit. Brut Reserve is aged for three years before release and is one of the most consistent NVs available.
Champagne Taittinger is the 3rd oldest house in Champagne, having started life in 1743 under the founder’s name, Jacques Fourneaux. It was purchased by Pierre Taittinger in 1932 who changed the name and turned it into one of the best-known names in the region. The Taittinger style has always been influenced by Chardonnay and their flagship wine, Comtes de Champagne, is made exclusively from this elegant grape.
