95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet France, this is a powerful, very precise wine with focused attention to ripe dark berry fruit and well-integrated tannins. Complex and vibrant, it has a lovely balance with long finish.
The Chateau La Croix Saint Georges in Pomerol is planted with 4.2ha vineyard, 91% of which is Merlot. Bought by the Janoueix family in 1932, it wasn't until 1999 that the modernisation of the winery came to be with wine previously being made down the road at Chateau La Croix. The estate has since garnered attention for its innovative winemaking techniques and exceptional terroir. A distinctive feature of the estate is its cellar, which houses a sculpture depicting St. George on horseback. This artwork serves as a reminder of the property's former ownership by the Chivalrous Order of the Hospitallers of Saint-Jean of Jerusalem.
