Deyrem Valentin is a luscious, Merlot dominated wine with ample dark fruits on the nose, black cherry, and plums. The palate is dense and complex with sweet spice, chocolate, coffee, cedar and exceptionally well-integrated oak flavours. It is a typically joyful Margaux with power and flashy opulence. A great drink made from a blend of 53% Merlot, 46% Cab. Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot.
Chateau Deyrem Valentin is owned by Jean Sorge, who runs the winery with his two daughters, Sylvie and Christelle. It is a rather unassuming Chateau that feels more like a small Burgundian Domaine rather than a grand Chateau. The 13-hectares of vineyard, sit on a superb site, composed of deep gravel, which has had a vineyard on it since 1730. It is a fantastic small family-owned operation nestled in amongst some of the superstar names of the Margaux appellation.
